Workouts for how we're all feeling.

The mood of the nation

In the lead-up to this year's Mental Health Month, we sat down with the Gotcha4Life Foundation to ask one question:
What's the mood in Australia right now?

The answers were wide-ranging, but as we dug into the data a few common threads took shape.
Stressed. Strained. Struggling. Close to burnout.

Last year, the New Emotions campaign gave Australians words for modern feelings our vocabulary hadn't caught up with, like Brainfetti, Drainium and Clusterwhelm. This year the campaign returns with six new ones, each named for how we're actually feeling now.

Meet the new feelings

Four feelings name the strain so many of us carry, and two name the moments worth noticing.

Why give a feeling a name?

Naming a feeling makes it easier to spot, easier to say out loud, and easier to do something about. Each new feeling links to workouts in the free Gotcha4Life Mental Fitness Gym app. There are tools to work through the hard ones, and ways to make the good ones last.

The campaign launches this Mental Health Month across TV, radio, OOH, print, digital and social, and will help to connect more Australians with workouts for how we're all feeling.
